We are asking churches around the world toll their bells 49 times June 12, 2017 at 12pm noon to commemorate the 49 innocent victims of the Pulse Orlando shooting. For the loved ones of those taken and as a united community at large, we ask you to join the 49 bells movement of love. How can you help?

Please register your church by submitting the form below to toll their bells 49 times in unison across the globe and as a tribute to the 49 lives that represent us all. This will take place at 12pm, June 12 around the world. As churches are submitted, the map will be updated.

Faith communities who worship in a building without a bell can participate in this project by posting the number “49” on their signs.

As part of many acts of love and kindness following the tragedy, some of the mothers of the Pulse victims reached out to the City of Orlando and the One Orlando Alliance with a special idea: find 49 churches around the world willing to toll their church bells 49 times in tribute of the 49 loved ones taken that day. The 49 Bells project will be just one part of the Act. Love. Give. movement that is taking place on June 12, 2017. “Orlando United Day – A Day of Love and Kindness”, June 12, is now dedicated to the 49 innocent lives taken at Pulse Orlando on June 12, 2016 in Orlando, Florida. The announcement recognizes and reaffirms the community’s commitment to the Pulse survivors, family members of the victims and their loves ones, in addition to recognizing an outpour of global compassion and love displayed in the wake of the tragedy.

“As parents, we don’t want our children to be forgotten, and most importantly, we would love the support of spreading love, not hate, as a message for humankind.” said Mayra Alvear, mother of Amanda Alvear, who was only 25 when she lost her life during the Pulse Shootings.

“Bells are sacred. We toll them for death and we ring them for celebration,” said Maria Wright, mother of Jerry Wright, 31 at the time he was tragically killed at Pulse Orlando. “Many faith traditions use bells as they resound within our innermost being.” With a clear and dedicated mission to honor the 49 victims, a letter has been written to the Pope and other interfaith organizations throughout the world, asking churches to honor the 49 innocent lives taken at Pulse with their bells.
