We are transforming our community by:
- Advocating for LGBTQ+ Progress – Using our collective voice, we highlight the issues impacting our community, and we advocate for inclusion, equity, and justice. We are committed to empowering queer and transgender leaders of color as an antiracist organization.
- Serving Collaboratively – In response to the Pulse tragedy, the Acts of Love and Kindness movement began. This is our framework for collaborative community service, creating opportunities to take action and make our community safer, stronger, and more beautiful.
- Developing Our Organizations – Together we are continually learning new skills and knowledge through shared education and training. When our organizations are healthy and growing, our whole community benefits.
- Sharing Resources– We are committed to creating a cohesive continuum of care that enables LGBTQ+ Central Floridians to move from surviving to thriving.
Mission
To unite LGBTQ+ serving organizations in Central Florida through advocacy, community transformation, organizational development, and resource sharing.
Vision
Central Florida transformed into a community where ALL LGBTQ+ people can belong and thrive.
Inspiration
In the aftermath of the Pulse shooting in 2016, organizations responding to the tragedy came together to meet the needs of our traumatized community. This informal partnership grew into the One Orlando Alliance, a coalition of diverse organizations honoring the memory of the lives taken and all those affected at Pulse by serving and strengthening the LGBTQ+ community. Through a multi-sector network of partnerships, One Orlando Alliance is transforming Central Florida into a community where all LGBTQ+ people can belong and thrive.
Organizational Reach
One Orlando Alliance has convened more than 40 organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community in Central Florida. Our leaders embody a broad spectrum of identities present within the Central Florida community. Our member organizations provide a range of services including: health and mental wellness access, HIV/STI education, prevention and treatment, youth services, advocacy, professional networking, legal services, entrepreneurship, publishing, leisure activities, fine and performing arts, homelessness and poverty alleviation services, and community service.
