Josh Bell is an experienced nonprofit leader with the heart of a peacemaker and justice worker. He believes that One Orlando Alliance is uniquely positioned to help ALL of our beautiful LGBTQ+ community BELONG and THRIVE in Orlando and Central Florida. Josh began his tenure as the Executive Director of One Orlando Alliance in October of 2020.

Josh brings 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and multi-organizational movements to this role. He previously served as the Director of Community Development for the Community Hope Center in Kissimmee, FL where his responsibilities included donor and community relations, capital campaign coordination, affordable housing development, and faith partnerships. Josh also worked for The Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College as a facilitator for transformative dialogues related to anti-racism training, gender bias, and LGBTQ+ and gender spectrum inclusion. In his previous role as Interfaith Coordinator for PJI, Josh helped faith-based organizations begin difficult discussions around inclusion and justice.

Josh is a member of the Orlando Mayor’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, the Interfaith Council of Central Florida, and the Planning Team for the Orlando Youth Empowerment Summit. He previously served on the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness Faith Committee and the Lake Nona YMCA Board. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree.

Prior to entering nonprofit work full time, Josh pastored United Methodist churches for nine years. He is a proud dad and coparent to three young children.

Josh is grateful for the courage of the Central Florida LGBTQ+ community. It was this courage that helped Josh overcome years of “conversion therapy” to step into his full and authentic self. In particular, the courage of Black, Latinx, and transgender folx has helped Josh to know his own privilege in order to leverage it for the benefit of others.
