  • 49 Bells to Toll in Honor of the Victims of the Pulse Tragedy

    On Friday, June 12, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. bells will toll 49 times virtually, for the first time due to COVID 19, in unison around the world as a tribute to the victims lost during the Pulse night club tragedy. Mothers of the victims are calling upon churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and businesses to join them on social media this year by attending and sharing the virtual event and showing solidarity with messages of love and kindness on their public signs.

    The rights of LGBTQ+ people in Florida currently stand in a precarious state. Members of the Florida Legislature have crafted a harmful bill that threatens medical professionals with 15 years in prison for providing life-saving care to transgender youth. The proposed transgender youth medical care ban (HB 1365) is a deliberate attempt to target our state’s most vulnerable youth and comes at a time of unprecedented attacks on transgender Americans across the country.

  • Orange County Business Resolution

    By resolution, today the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County formally recognized the importance of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning/Queer+ community to the local economy. The resolution also calls for County staff to use the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s certification criteria to monitor the County’s utilization of LGBTQ+-owned business enterprises in Orange County procurements.
